Before/After

During Christmas, I saw my dad for the first time in about a year. The first words out of his mouth were “Hey, you’re finally dressing better!” No more honest words were spoken. Probably like most folks, I was apprehensive with the idea of a “makeover” – just the very word suggests transforming me into someone I wouldn’t recognize. Julie put those fears to rest because she wasn’t trying to change me – her goal was to bring my best qualities to the forefront so everyone can see my best possible “version.” So in the span of several hours (Oh, did I mention that Julie spent three times the hours picking clothes ahead of time in preparation?), Julie worked her magic in only two shopping trips: two new shirts, pair of jeans, winter jacket – all aces. I’m the father of 3 kids and recently divorced. My marriage may be over, but my desire to share my life with a special woman is still strong. I used Julie’s online styling service to help me select outfits for a reality tv show I was shooting on very short notice. I had almost no time to come up with different combinations for six different episodes, everything from formal to casual. My problem was that I tend to wear the same outfit for most things (nice jeans with a button down and a black blazer). I also needed a lot of help with knowing what goes with what and what’s appropriate for what occasion. Julie and I did all of our work together via email and Skype, and as a result it was extremely time efficient. She answered my questions and addressed my concerns right away.
